Here is some useful information to help you get the best out of you cut flowers.

Hand-tied bouquets– When you receive a hand-tied bouquet it often comes in its own water supply aqua packed. The flowers will happy in this water for up to 3 days, after this time cut the aqua pack over a sink and drain the water, remove packaging and cut the stems at a 45-degree angle, removing 2cm from the stem. Do not untie the bouquet and place it in a suitable clean container with water and the flower food supplied, refresh the water every 3 days. Remove any blooms and foliage as they fade.

Flower wraps– When you receive you flowers they wrapped in paper or cellophane, carefully unwrap you flowers and cut the stems at a 45-degree angle removing 2cm from the stem. Place in a suitable clean container with water and the flower food supplied, refresh the water every 3 days. Remove any blooms and foliage as they fade.

Floral arrangements– A floral arrangement will arrive in its own water supply, to ensure the longevity of the blooms and foliage top up the water supply every other day. This will ensure the water supply doesn’t dry out and it will keep your blooms fresh for longer.

Vases and containers– Bacteria kills flowers! always ensure your containers are clean and free from bacteria.

Lilies– Lilies are a beautiful flower but remember the stamen of a lily can stain walls, furniture etc., it is best practice to remove them as the flower opens. Lilies are also harmful to pets so keep them out of reach of animals.

Following these tips will help your blooms last as long as possible, please note some flowers will last much longer than others. to keep your arrangement happy and healthy remove any spent material as they fade
